Today is mother's day and probably the most weirdest if not saddest for many.
We have been advised to not have social gatherings and to stay away from our parents and vulnerable others.
I was spoilt with a lie in, a cup of fruit tea made by Rhys and a bowl of cereal made by Jake. The children made home made cards. Ziva presented me with a gift that Mark had managed to pick up last minute to replace the spa day that had now been cancelled. The gift was definitely a winner though as I had been after one for ages. This is my favourite tea from Woodberry.
To follow with the social distancing we went for a lovely walk far away from any one. We found our secret place last summer and decided to go back as we knew we would be lucky if we bumped into a farmer it was that quiet. The sun has been shining and I think it is what we all need to keep us going during this time.
Now the local pubs and restaurants have been closed to diners they have become takeaways in order to keep businesses going in such times. We finished our day with a lovely takeaway Sunday Roast from The Lion.
It was sad to see on the news that people had been taking the social distancing advice as though they had been given an extra bank holiday. They flew to the seaside and congregated together. I felt guilty going out for a walk.
There are many people that still need to work and they are doing their very best to keep their distances. Those of us that do not need to now need to support them by doing our bit. Let's help flatten the curve.
