So today the schools closed and for those children that parents are not classed as key workers they will be home schooled.
It was nice to start the day with the sun shining this morning. Throughout the day we had cloud but made the most of trying to spend as much time as possible outside. Especially during our breaks to get so much needed vitamin D.
We did lots of paper craft activities today. Making characters for stories, paper aeroplanes and the children taught themselves how to make some other things in origami.
Together we learned colours and numbers in French. We have seen the ideas of when people go out for a walk to look for rainbows so we coloured one of those in with French labels to hang in our windows.
We have still not received our packs or guidance yet from school with being off so decided to plan our next week.
I will not lie, inbetween all of these activities we have tears and arguing. Some of the memes currently hitting social media about parents and their unsuccessful homeschooling is very fitting. I have also read that you can't do it like this. You probably can't but we are trying to do what works for our family.
At the end of today when I said schools out. They wanted to carry on, called it after school club then started playing.
I don't mind how we do this as long as my children are happy we will do what works for them.
Tomorrow is the weekend and I am now going to the 'staffroom' for my well deserved break. 🥂
