Pink!

It's a girl!
The arrival of our third child came just in time for Christmas. We didn't want to know the gender and was looking forward to the surprise. I was due on the 19th. Howeve, after a crazy month of Braxton hicks and lots of stress, this bundle was happy and warm. Rhys was in his first year of school so I panicked lots about missing things. Jake had his first Christmas play and again I was afraid I would miss it. However, baby Z. (Our nickname) was in no rush to arrive.
School broke up, due date had arrived so the boys went to spend time with the grandparents.
All seemed to be finally but I seemed unwell as was told I had a water infection and was put on antibiotics. I don't know if they affected me somehow but I didn't have as many contractions as I was before and the kicks seemed to slow down. Concerned I rang the hospital who asked me to go in.
All was ok on the monitors, but they felt that I was measuring small. I saw a consultant who suggested I be induced the next day. We went home and tried to get some sleep. Headed back the next day. I was put on monitors and told I was having contractions I just wasn't feeling them.
They decided to see if I would go into Labour naturally. However, this didn't happen and everything seemed to slow down.
The peasantry option was next we did everything that was advised but I just became tired and ended up falling asleep. I was still having contractions but not really feeling them. eventually they did become more frequent and I was allowed onto the delivery suite. However an alarm had broken near the room and was constantly going off. So we wAited a bit. My Labour progressed and I went over once there everything slowed down again. I ate sugary sweets, drank ice cold water yet baby z seemed cosy. At this point will still hadn't agreed on a boys name! The midwife decided to break my waters. Instantly, I wanted to push. Shocked the midwife said I could. Twenty five minutes later our baby was here. A girl. Ziva.
We were both in shock! A lovely Christmas surprise. The boys came to visit that morning and were very excited to have a little sister.
