Rhys has asked if we can plant some seeds to grow in our garden specifically Corn on the Cob! (sweet corn).
So earlier in February we had a trip to the garden centre to buy some seeds sweet corn, (corn on the cob), cucumber, tomato and carrots.
With the weather still quite cool and at times of frost I didn’t think the new little seeds would cope in my plastic green house so I have purchased a propagator.
Our plan is so sew several batches of seed over several weeks, in hopes that if our crops are successful then we have a good supply over the summer months.
Getting messy putting soil in our pots.
Planting our seeds into little pots to fit into the propagator. For now we have a tub of tomato seeds, cucumber and sweet corn.
We have labelled each pot with the seed, our names and date so we can keep an eye on our progress. Put a little water in to moist the soil…
…and placed in the propagator.
We planted some carrot seeds into high tubs and felt they could brave the weather in the plastic greenhouse.
Wish us luck with our crops!
