I do love where I live. It has a lovely calm about it that reminds me of growing up when I was a child. I love being able to walk to the shops and then having a sit on the bench in the sun on the walk back.
Having a baby introduces you to many new people and many new friends. I have lived in the village for 4 years now and in the past 6 months I have gotten to know more people than I ever did before. Conversations seem to be easier when you have something to talk about such as a baby. The little old ladies want to coo and the men smile a polite hello.
I have the best doctors that are so friendly and helpful it feels like something of the television. My health visitor is also very nice, I have heard so many horror stories that I worried about how the health visitor would be, but she is fantastic. She remembers you and always asks about you and not just the baby. In January she introduced me to the playgroup held in the village. I didn't know anyone and was very worried, but she does monthly visits and made going much easier. I am so glad I did as it is a brilliant place to have some grown up chats and for Rhys to have some friends to play with. We also get invites to birthday parties too xxx
