We moved to Farnsfield nearly four years ago. When we arrived there was a lovely chip shop in the village. Now this came in handy as there was no other takeaway in the village & we came from a town that had a McDonald's, KFC, several Chinese & Indian takeaways & at least 8 chippies!
So whilst we spent several months, renovating the house it cam in very useful & the fish & chips were beautiful. However it had one downside, it closed at 8.30pm. So if you fancied a bag late in the evening or on your way home from some teaching course then you would be disappointed!
Within a year of us arriving it closed! New owners arrived, a new sign was put up & menus posted around the village titled 'Fransfield Chippy'. No I have not made a spelling mistake they did. On all the menus that they posted! To top it off this newly renovated chippy was also going to be a Chinese, and they were open until late - it all sounded GREAT!!!!
However, the chips were awful, they were more focused on the Chinese & the Chinese wasn't that great to be fair! So whenever we fancied a bag of chips or a Chinese we would have to drive somewhere. (Very few establishments will deliver to us in the village & they charge for delivery!)
Then FRANSFIELD CHIPPY was closing. Are we having a new chippy?????? - it was having a refurb; new owners. NO - it was now going to be a fulltime Chinese takeaway!
AND then ... we heard rumours of a chippie van coming soon!
The Nippie Chippie, from the Full Moon in Morton. WOW!
It comes to the village every week on alternate days, for example; this week it will be a Friday, the next a Thursday; then back to a Friday so on!
So we had to try it! They are beautiful! Fresh Grimsby fish, home made chips & pureed peas! Delicious!
